Youth Internship Program
YIP Mission
The Machinists Inc. Youth Internship Program will provide closely supervised on-the-job training and education in advanced manufacturing disciplines with the goal to create a foundation for long lasting strong employment opportunities to all those who are admitted to the program. Youth Interns will work hand in hand with mentors within a selection of manufacturing disciplines to gain experience and knowledge to set them up for success in the manufacturing trades within Seattle, the Puget Sound and beyond.

The Youth Internship Program is an invitational program. Machinists Inc will source potential candidates through our education partners in the local area, conduct interviews and hire based on the candidate’s ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and desire for a career in manufacturing. This program is focused on imparting relevant technical knowledge to each apprentice seeking to create a valuable member of the Machinists Inc team at the end of the program if they prove to be a top performer.
EXPECTATIONS OF SELECTED INTERNS
Each individual will be required to adhere to Machinists Inc. expectations for employment in regards to time and attendance, demonstration of basic skills obtained on the job and knowledge of safe work practices. We will reserve the right to eliminate participants as needed if they are not meeting basic criteria and progression such as attendance, attitude, skill development and safety.
